Absolutely phenomenal. Cordingly has done an incredible amount of research for this book. The format makes you feel like you're reading a series of stories rather than history, and his knowledge of the perspectives of the time added so much to my understanding of that time period. I learned so much, and I was actually sad when I finished. I have every intention of buying this book, and would recommend it to anyone with even an inkling of interest in maritime history.
