Sixth-grader Iris Abernathy hates life in Corvallis, Oregon. When Iris meets Boris, an awkward mouth-breather with a know-it-all personality, she learns that Boris's very existence is a medical mystery, maybe even a miracle, and Iris starts to wonder why some people get miracles and others don't.
Unhappy about moving from sunny California to rainy Corvallis, Oregon, and grieving over the death of her best friend, sixth-grader Iris looks for a miracle and may find one in new friend Boris.

This book is my second favorite book of all time, and I can't really explain why, it just does. There is so much emotion that occurs throughout the book, including Iris's background, Boris's background, their time together, and so much more. I totally recommend for anyone looking for a book that is heart touching and a good book just to curl up and read for hours. 5 stars!!!!!

This is a sweet story about a girl who is grieving the loss of her best friend and questioning the existence of miracles. Her emotions come across fully realized and sincere and I would find myself relating often.
