On March 1, 1932, aviator Charles Lindbergh's son was kidnapped from the Lindbergh family home. A ransom note left near an open window in the boy's bedroom suggested that the child was still alive when he was kidnapped, but despite the Lindbergh's' plea for the baby's safe return, his body was found in a nearby wooded area two months later.
