Clarence Thomas Testifies During Senate Confirmation Hearings Ca. 1991Unknown - 1991
During Senate hearings to confirm his nomination to the Supreme Court, Clarence Thomas was at the center of a national debate regarding sexual harassment. Anita Hill, a former colleague of Thomas, accused him of sexually harassing her when they worked together in the early 1980s. Though Thomas was eventually confirmed to the Court by a narrow margin, the Thomas-Hill scandal made sexual harassment in the workplace a widely discussed issue.
