This film covers protests on the island of Jeju, South Korea, to a naval base South Korea is building there. Some opposition is for local reasons. Some is based on pacifism. Some see the base as a tool of U.S. hegemony in the Pacific and its effort to block China's rise, noting Obama's pivot toward Asia. They argue that it risks putting South Korea in the middle of a conflict between the U.S. and China.
