Robert F. Kennedy Is Assassinated Ca. 1968Unknown - 1968
Robert F. Kennedy, President John F. Kennedy's younger brother, served as Attorney General from 1960 to 1964, when he resigned to run for the Senate. In March 1968 Robert announced his candidacy for President. His candidacy was cut short on June 5 when, having won the California Democratic primary, he was shot at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles by Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian angered by Kennedy's pro-Israeli politics. Kennedy died the next day.
