This book is a collection of three stories about a ten-year-old girl named Agatha living in the Canadian Arctic in 1958. The stories describe Agatha's encounter with the migration of northern birds, the day a large unfamiliar airship flies over Repulse Bay and her experiences being sent away from her parents for school. Based on the author's own childhood experiences, the stories have a flavour of folklore, although the author does not shy away from tough realities. The narrative is accompanied by lush, colourful illustrations.
