Interesting and even exciting at times, but the narration could easily be strong and the character/writer is a little bit harsh on other women.

In an alternate world where vampirism has just become legal, Anita Blake works as an animator (someone who raises zombies), while hunting "criminal" vampires on the side. Anita meets werewolf Richard Zeeman and takes on a young animator as a protégé.
