Nice change-up of an inexperienced female fighting against frenemy old boys network & rigid ritualized system with depleted estate & limited military forces.

I am new to the Fantasy genre but I really enjoyed th is book and look forward to completing the trilogy. a strong female character cleverly protects her people and her families honour int he ruthless "Game of the Council". Great read!
