"Set in a fictional small town in the Canadian west, 'Who Has Seen the Wind' traces the evolving consciousness of Brian O'Connal, beginning when he is four and ending when he is 12. The free-spirited Brian brings a refreshingly naive yet thoughtful sensibility to the experiences of growing up. He rails against the tyranny of his Scottish grandmother, befriends a prairie wild boy, and experiences a series of deaths, culminating in the loss of his beloved father and grandmother. Along the way, he gleans understanding into the big questions of existence -- particularly mankind's relationship to nature, expressed in the relentlessly blowing wind of the prairie."--Container.

Who Has Seen the Wind. --- W.O. Mitchell, Audiobook read wy WO Mitchell. This a classis piece of Canadian literature written by a classic Canadian author who has read his own work. I have fond memories of taking this tape (it came out originally a long time ago on cassette) along on a long road trip to the west coast with a van full of four kids (no dog though) Somewhere in Saskatchewan on the trans-Canada with the sun beating down on us seemed to be the right time to pop the tape into the player. I remember hearing the beginning and then nodding off to the land of nod (the Queen-bee took one of her infrequent turns at the wheel) and then waking up just in time for the end. Enjoy. Think summer. Think thousands of road miles from home. Think Saskatchewan.
