Scientific name is Aurora Borealis, or Aqsalijaat, "The trail of those playing soccer"; on Baffin Island known simply as "Soccer Trails". Soccer is a traditional game of the Inuit, and they like to play at night when the stars are out and the moon is bright. They believe that the souls of the dead like to indulge in the lively game of soccer, too.
After her mother dies, a little Eskimo girl believes she sees her playing soccer in the sky amongst the stars.
