Perseus Publishing
In their fifth adventure, Matt and Emily travel back to February 23, 1909. Amidst a crowd of anxious onlookers, they stand shivering on the shores of frozen Bras d’Or Lake on Cape Breton Island and wait for Alexander Graham Bell’s Silver Dart to take off. With Emily’s sketchbook and Matt’s digital recorder, they relay the wonder of Canada’s first flight. A special section at the back provides additional information about early flight.

This book was extremely awesome!!! I can imagine myself sitting in the Silver Dart! I'm pretty sure this was quite an adventure for Emily and Matt! (I also like the book because of naughty littly Ruby. lol:)

Try this fun historical series by Canadian author Frieda Wishinsky! If you loved Magic Tree House books, this series is for you. Emily and Matt have magical adventures on the Canadian Flyer, a magic sled found in Emily's attic.

This series is similar to Magic Treehouse - which my son loved at this age. My daughter however seems much more taken with this set of books.
