I am a fan of all four actors but i pray i never get to a point in marriage where i just give up. I felt like the men were complete narcissistic a-holes, serving only as a provider (and they were even pathetic at that) with no love or affection for their wives. Krause was so busy attempting to be a published author & looking for new tail he could care what his wife was doing. Campbell just wanted revenge. Raffalo pushed his wife into cheating so he wouldnt feel guilty. And Dern is her usual crazy, neurotic self, drinking, ranting and raving then becoming eerily calm (like her Enlightened character). The ending was no surprise and i dont get what point the writer/director was trying to make at the end.

It felt at times as though I was watching a play, but on film. I'm a fan of Mark Ruffalo and Peter Krause, and they both do a good job... though nothing you haven't seen before if you've watched them. Naomi Watts is the weak link, though she picks it up towards the end. Laura Dern usually bugs me, but she's quite moving in this role. Certainly does a good job conveying everyday married life and built-up resentments, but then because it's such a small-scope picture, the movie is at times tedious and suffocating; that's probably part of the point. Nothing earth-shattering here, and slow-moving so you have to be in the mood. Calls to mind the movie "Closer", though less well done.

I got bored really fast. The characters were hard to relate to. I did not even have the energy to finish watching it. I also did not have the energy to even dislike the characters......pretty boring.

Good acting, but depressing and slow with a pretty despicable main character.

It's sad, and it's long.
