A confluence of cloak and dagger, surreal manifestations, and time's provision of fleeting, yet strangely cyclical, choices: life buffeted by the seen and unseen forces beyond one's limited comprehension and control. In the end, Set in Stone provides for introspection and contemplation of the intangibles that frame our reality. Intricately memorable; well worth the read.

After the tragic death of his wife, Tony Sheridan goes to live with his sister-in-law, Lucy, and his best friend, Matt in their newly acquired home, Otherways. It is a moated, round house that holds secrets and imposes visions on its inhabitants that reflect the tragedies that have become part of its very mortar. Tony starts to investigate a murder that was committed at Otherways in 1939, when he finds himself reliving history, and perhaps seeing into the future. What is real and what could be real soon become entangled in his mind until he finds the key to the murder and perhaps the death of his wife. This book, told in the first person, starts slow but builds to a frightening climax where no one is as they seem and the supernatural blurs the lines of past, present, and future. I couldn''t put it down!
