It's weird- i've read a lot of poets in school and such, but
I always come back to Poe! His work his so dark, but if you study the words, there's almost a lightness to them. It stunns me how he can take simply ordinary things (Like a raven) and twist them into complete oppisites and unknowns. Poe has helped me grow up, and if you have the chance to read his works, do it! I even still have Eldorado memorized from a class recitation.

This book is FANTASTIC! I love Poe, and having all his works in a book (even if it IS over 1000 pages long!) to go through all at once is amazing!

Poe takes horror to a whole new level- subtle things, not always gore. He's also romantic, as demonstrated in "Annabel Lee" (my favorite poem).
If you haven't yet- read this!
