The plot was a bit weak but the writing and description language sucked me in. Can't wait to read more of Mary Stewart.

I am re-reading Mary Stewart. Loved this one. Her descriptions of the Hebridean Islands are evocative and what happens with the Old House and the Cottage in the light of more recent times, ties in so well in fact made immediate by the storyline.

meh, classifying this book as a suspense is a far stretch. The first third of the book was enjoyable but took a turn for the worst and by then the damage was done and could not be recovered. Too bad.
