If you want to see an excellent version of MacBeth, watch the 1971 film directed by Roman Polanski. It is a bloody movie that is completely faithful to Shakespeare. Also, the 2015 with Michael Fassbender is good; this one does not contain very much of the poetry except during "important" or "famous" scenes (kind of like a highlight reel). . For me, when compared to the actual play of MacBeth, Throne of Blood is just OK. Obviously, being in Japanese, it does not contain any of the poetry on which it is based and several important scenes are glossed over or merely hinted at. It has a high IMDB rating (8.1) which can only be because it was directed by Akira Kurasawa. Still, it has amazing (if not comical) death scene at the end.
