First published in 1958 - "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back" is a children's book written and illustrated by Theodor Geisel under the pen name Dr. Seuss. As of 2007, more than 10 million copies of The Cat in the Hat Comes Back have been printed, and it has been translated into more than 12 different languages, including Latin, under the title Cattus Petasatus. The story centres around a tall, lean, anthropomorphic cat, who wears a red and white-striped hat and a red bow tie. One cold, snowy day the Cat shows up at the house of Sally and her brother, Dicky when their mother is away. Ignoring repeated objections from the children's fish, the Cat shows the children a few of his tricks in an attempt to entertain them. Originally from Springfield, Massachusetts - Theodor Seuss Geisel (born March 2, 1904) was a cartoonist, and artist. He died in 1991 (at the age of 87) from cancer.
